As part of WREK's 24-hour women-only broadcast (in honor of International Women in Music Day whoop whoop!), DiWREKtor's Cut searched out a movie that had a soundtrack composed entirely of songs by women. And our search landed us upon the 2023 satirical comedy directed by Emma Seligman - Bottoms! This movie stars Rachel Sennott (who also co-wrote the film) and Ayo Edibiri as two highschool lesbian best friends who, caught up in a web of lies, decide to form a girls fight club at school in order to pursue the crushes they have on the most popular girls in school. From the crazy antics of the clubs to the ridiculous portrayal of high school football, Bottoms is a laugh riot you're sure to get enjoyment out of. While Bottoms only has four (really perfectly-used) needle drop songs, it also features a score by Charli XCX, rouding out our full soundtrack of all women!
