Tonight on New Forces we celebrate the life and death of one of the defining bands of our show - Black Midi. Described as one of the influential rock bands of the latter 2010s, Black Midi rose to fame with unconventional song structures, odd time signatures, and often abrasive instrumentals. Tonight, we honor them by playing a collection of their songs that are technically "unreleased" but are re-recordings of existing songs by producer Steve Albini. That will come at the end of the hour, and first we will recap some of our favorite local releases of the summer and a few classics from our archive. We hope you enjoy!!
